Latest Update - Aerial Mosquito Spraying Summer 2019
A second round of aerial spraying for mosquitoes in areas of southeastern Massachusetts is scheduled to begin Wednesday, August 21 and to continue for several evenings. It remains critically important for people in communities at critical, high and moderate risk for EEE to continue to take personal precautions against mosquito bites. These steps include using EPA-approved bug spray, wearing long sleeves and pants outdoors to reduce exposed skin, and cancelling outdoor activities in the hours from dusk to dawn when mosquitoes are most active.
A message from Bristol County Mosquito Control: Below please find a link to the mapping tool that is now live. By clicking on the “View Mapping Tool” the public can see if they are in the spray zone. The map will be updated daily, roughly after 1pm the day after the application takes place, to see which areas were treated the night before. To provide maximum flexibility to the wide area application, any area within the spray zone may be sprayed on any night. https://www.mass.gov/emergency-response-to-mosquito-borne-virus-aerial-s...
Latest Update from Bristol County Mosquito Control (9/6/19): Due to cooler morning temperatures we will be suspending ground-based ULV application on September 13, 2019. After today, we will no longer be accepting residential requests. We will be targeting outstanding requests and areas of EEE and WNV activity next week.
