Emergency Management Division

The Fairhaven Emergency Management (EM)’s responsibility is to educate the citizens and department heads of the Town of Fairhaven to avert or combat the effects of disasters whether natural or manmade. In addition, they help activate and coordinate different local, state, federal, and volunteer agencies that respond to assist town departments when local resources are overwhelmed. They help to ensure that the citizens affected by the disaster are cared for, receive financial assistance and emotional support through the recovery process.
 
In addition, the EM Division assists local departments with fire & police operational support, street closings, road race details, community events, and shelter management and operations.
 
The EM Division is made up of civilian volunteers who are trained in Basic First Aid, CPR, Shelter Management. Volunteers are always needed and welcome. For more information regarding becoming a volunteer, please contact the director via email.

Emergency Notifications

Fairhaven, MA, March 20, 2020  – Public safety officials in Fairhaven are excited to announce that Fairhaven Emergency Alert is now available to all residents.  Fairhaven Alert is a free service that allows individuals to sign up for notifications sent from state and local authorities.  You can connect all members of your family to one account and can receive messages in three different ways; email, text, or by phone.   

Fairhaven Emergency Alert enables authorities to notify the community in real-time. This service allows for critical communication with the public and provides individuals with the information needed to stay safe or take precautions during hazardous or emergencies.

Fairhaven Emergency Alert enables residents and travelers to the Town of Fairhaven to sign up for free to receive timely and actionable emergency alerts via email, text, or voice message. They can also identify when and how they are alerted and communicated with before, during, and after emergencies.
