Electric Vehicle and Charging Stations

Electric Vehicle Incentive Program

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FAIRHAVEN - The Town of Fairhaven is pleased to share that they received a $12,500 grant from the MassDEP Electric Vehicle Incentive Program (EVIP) for Level 2 charging stations and two (2) leased electric Chevrolet Bolts for Town use. The vehicles will be used by various departments to minimize their carbon footprint in the town and to increase the use and visibility of electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Residents will have access to an EV charging station 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, located adjacent to the Board of Public Works and the bike path. There are two stations, one is for employee vehicles and the other is for the general public. Fairhaven is looking forward to promoting electric vehicle use by the general public and stakeholders in Fairhaven.

Now that Fairhaven has been designated a Green Community by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Town is eligible for new sources of funding and grant opportunities. The Town is pleased that these new incentives and programs are available; as a Green Community they look forward to expanding their EV fleet and charging stations in the years to come.
