North Cove Closed to Shellfishing

In accordance with Chapter 130, Section 74A of the Massachusetts General Laws, the Division of Marine Fisheries has determined that a portion of the shellfish growing area Nasketucket Bay, North Cove [BB:21.21] in the Town of Fairhaven, no longer meets the established criteria for a status of "OPEN TO SHELLFISHING" due to the transplant of contaminated quahogs from the Taunton River (Permit # 161418). The status of the area will be “CLOSED TO SHELLFISHING” as of sunrise on June 25, 2019.
