Town Hall Update

town-hall-update

The Fairhaven Town Hall remains closed today to complete deep-cleaning of all Town offices as a result of an employee testing positive for COVID-19. This employee was tested for routine purposes and was asymptomatic.

In response to some of the concerns raised as a result of the Town Hall’s closing, the Town Administrator would like to inform the public that the affected employee was staffed in a non-public office that is available by appointment only. The Department of Public Health (DPH) Epidemiology unit was notified immediately upon notice of the positive case, contact tracking protocols were followed, and all individuals (employees and the public alike) have been or will be notified and advised of their self-quarantining obligations in accordance with the DPH’s guidance.

In order to ensure continued “best practices” by Town employees and the public to limit the spread of the virus, reminder notices regarding social distancing, mask wearing, and proper sanitation will be distributed. If the public is concerned or uncomfortable with receiving Town Hall services in person, they are welcome to coordinate services remotely with departments. Town Hall offices contact information can be found on the Town website (www.Fairhaven-MA.gov) under the respective department.

The deep-cleaning and sanitizing by an outside vendor has been completed. Pending the completion of the contact tracking protocols, Town Hall offices will remain closed to the public until at least Monday, July 27, 2020. The dropbox remains available to use at the entrance of Town Hall.
