Welcome Town of Fairhaven's Human Resources Director!

The Town of Fairhaven is excited to welcome Cameron Durant as our new Human Resources Director! Cameron started this position on August 1st. Upon his hire, he shared that he is “so excited to help set policy and solve problems to help the different departments that serve our residents”.

Cameron is a proud Providence College Friar and is currently going for his MBA-HR at Fitchburg State University. Prior to working for the Town, he was an operations manager for Lyft and Amazon. Having managed teams of over 60 people, he saw his direct reports as his customers. “Without employees, a manager does not have a job. HR is about increasing productivity for everyone, and the best way to do this is to remove barriers in people's way so they can give it their all”.

Cameron knew six months ago that he wanted to be a part of Town Hall, but never imagined this opportunity as an option. After 5 years of service on the Board of Public Works, he is excited to serve the Town in this new capacity. His specific goals include improving the on-boarding process for new hires and making an employee handbook based on the personnel policy. “If we start a person on the correct footing, then they will have a successful career of service”.

Outside of Town Hall, Cameron shared that he is also “a proud dance dad to my three girls and quite the amateur chef”.
