Possible Bylaws Under Consideration for May 2022 Annual Town Meeting

1. Fairhaven Pubic Shade Tree Bylaw - General Bylaw - Documents
   1. Proposal: To establish a  Fairhaven Public Shade Tree Bylaw.
   2. Purpose: To protect the public trees and promote a diverse, healthy and sustainable community forest in order to maintain the historic character of Fairhaven, to provide for the general welfare, and enhance the appearance and land values of the Town.
   3. Code Location: § 88
2. Upper Narragansett Avenue Rezone - Zoning Map - Documents
   1. Proposal: An amendment to the Zoning Map in Fairhaven at the north end of Narragansett Boulevard north of Progress Avenue (a paper street) to be rezoned from Business (B) to the Single Residence (RA) District
   2. Purpose: To make the Zoning Map conform to the actual land use of the residential neighborhood.

3. Public Facility Setbacks - General Bylaw - Documents 
   1. Proposal: To establish setbacks for new structures from existing public facilities that may have adverse, unhealthy or dangerous impacts.
   2. Purpose: To protect future residents and ensure safety with regard to locating new residential or commercial uses too close to existing public facilities with potentially dangerous and/or unhealthy impacts such as the sewage treatment plants, wind turbines or other existing facilities that may create nuisance like impacts.
