Do Your Part, Recycle Smart

Press Release - The Town of Fairhaven Board of Health  along with Mass DEP are  pleased to announce the launch of our new statewide Recycle Smart education initiative – “Do Your Part, Recycle Smart.”  This initiative doesn’t impact your Recycling IQ Kit program but complements the work you are doing to address recycling contamination in Fairhaven and we believe will be a great resource for your continued education efforts.

The Recycle Smart initiative is centered around a new webpage, RecycleSmartMA.org which includes a downloadable Smart Recycling Guide (which you should recognize looks a lot like the Annual Info Card*) and a searchable Recyclopedia which enables users to search on hundreds of individual items to learn how to properly manage them.

*The Annual Info Card has been updated with the RecycleSmart logo and url. You are welcome to use this version, but don’t worry if you’ve already sent out the Annual Mailer- it’s the exact same information.

We also invite you to follow us on Facebook (Recycle Smart MA), Twitter (@RecycleSmartMA) and Instagram (recyclesmartma). You are welcome to share any of the videos, images, and posts on your own social media channels – there will be a lot of good content added throughout the summer and fall focused on the importance of putting the right materials in the recycling bin and taking care to separate the “problem materials” that cause contamination and drive up the costs of recycling.

If you have any questions, please contact the Health Department at (508) 979-4023 ext. 125 for more information.
