Promotion Spotlight - IT Director Steven Rosa

The Town of Fairhaven is excited to welcome Steven Rosa into his new role as our IT Director!

Steven's first experience in the computer field was as a lead tech for ESG in Canton, where he gained valuable experience that prepared him for his role as the Network Admin for the Town of Fairhaven and School Department. Over the past 23 years at the Town, Steve has had the pleasure of working with the staff and being exposed to various technologies, such as hardware, software, security, HVAC, lighting, and electronics. These experiences have equipped him with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in his new position.

"One of the reasons I enjoy working for the Town of Fairhaven is the diversity of work. Every day presents new challenges and opportunities. I could be troubleshooting a network one day and installing a camera system the next. This variety keeps me engaged and motivated. Additionally, the staff at the Town of Fairhaven is incredibly welcoming. It feels like a big family, which creates a supportive and positive work environment."

As the Director of IT, Steve has several goals that he hopes to achieve. His main focus is to improve security, both physical and cyber. In an increasingly digital world, the importance of safeguarding sensitive information cannot be understated. "By implementing robust security measures, we can mitigate potential risks and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data."

Furthermore, Steve is a strong advocate for training. He firmly believes that investing in the professional development of staff leads to a more productive and efficient work environment. By providing comprehensive training programs, we can enhance the skill sets of our employees and empower them to excel in their respective roles.
