Shoreline/Saltmarsh Remediation January 2021-July 2021

The next area to be remediated as part of the Superfund Harbor cleanup is the shoreline/saltmarshes in Fairhaven from approximately Pleasant Street to Veranda Avenue. This cleanup work is scheduled to last from January to July 2021 and is a continuation of similar shoreline remediation performed in 2020 in both New Bedford and Acushnet. This work is being performed pursuant to the 1998 Record of Decision (ROD) for the New Bedford Harbor Superfund Site, which can be found on-line at www.epa.gov/new-bedford-harbor, along with the remedial work plans for this area.
