Town Offices Closed

Event Date:
Monday, June 20, 2022 (All day)

All town offices will be closed on Monday, June 20, 2022 in recognition of Juneteenth.  Town Offices will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, June 21, 2022.

Juneteenth is a day in which we remember the moral stain and terrible toll slavery has had on the United States.  June 19th leaves a “long legacy of systemic racism, inequality, and inhumanity, but it is a day that also reminds us of our incredible capacity to heal, hope, and emerge from our darkest moments with purpose and resolve. On this day, we recommit ourselves to the work of equity, equality, and justice as well as to celebrate the centuries of struggle, courage, and hope that have brought us to this time of progress and possibility”.

With a shared vision, the work has been led throughout our history by abolitionists, educators, civil rights advocates, lawyers, courageous activists, public officials, and everyday Americans.  In recognition of this day, we celebrate our potential to be better.  As Maya Angelou stated, when you know better, you do better.
