Interested in Having Animals in Town?

Please visit the Zoning Map to research your zoning district prior to making an animal purchase. The following steps are required in order to be approved for an animal permit in the Town of Fairhaven:

1. Complete and provide payment fee for Zoning Board of Appeals application. ZBA may be contacted at (508) 979-4019 ext. 117
2. Once ZBA has approved their application, you must complete an animal application and provide payment fee through the Board of Health. Contact the Health Department with any questions at (508) 979-4023 ext. 125
3. Once the Board of Health approves the number of animals you have applied for, your permit will be processed. Please remember all animal permits expire December 31st of every year. It is the permit holders’ responsibility to renew their permits with the Board of Health.
4. At any time should the permit holder request additional animals not currently approved for, the ZBA process should again be followed.
